Understanding 'Passive with double objects' is essential for mastering English. As we know, passive with double objects can make either object the subject, usually the personal object. If we make mistakes here, our sentences or writing will lose their true meaning. When an active sentence has two objects (a direct and an indirect object), we can use either object as the subject of the passive sentence. However, it is usually better to make the personal (indirect) object the subject. Active: 'He gave me a pen'. Passive: 'I was given a pen by him'.
